SO B. IT MOVIE NEWS!!!!!!!

This is an actual prop from the movie and YES, there are 1527 of them!

IT’S IN THE CAN!  That’s movie talk for: THE MOVIE IS FINISHED!
Well, almost finished anyway.  They are done adding the musical score, written by Nick Urata.  Next they will record the music for the end credits and THEN it will be officially done.  WOO HOO! But there’s still one more step to the process.  We need to find distribution. Distributors are the people who decide which theaters the movie will be shown in.  It’ s a really important part of the process, and apparently it may take some some.  SIGH.  It’s so hard to wait!  BUT  I couldn’t be happier with the way things have turned out.  We have a great script by Garry Williams, a cast and crew sent from heaven, and Stephen Gyllenhaal, our director is BRILLIANT. Rumor has it that the movie will be released sometime in 2016. Follow us  @So B. It Film on both Facebook and Twitter  where you’ll find photos and news items about the movie.  In the meantime, please enjoy a few photos from my personal collection….

I purposely left the time period a little vague because I wanted my readers to feel the story was taking place in the present. About the only thing you can go by is that Zander’s father was in the Viet Nam War. So I would say if you HAVE to answer that question, the story takes place some time in the 1980’s. Hope this helps! I have been getting a lot of questions about the oyster trick lately! First of all, YAY! I’m so glad that kids are reading Regular Guy!!!!! In answer to your question – I saw someone do the oyster trick on the old David Letterman Show many years ago and just could’t forget it, it was SO gross! – SW

    Hi!
I am a big fan of this book – each time I read it, it makes me cry. I simply cannot wait for the movie to come out! I was curious about a few things – what sickness did Mama have that made her head hurt, and what was the reason for her death? Were the headaches related to her death? Was there a reason for Elliot shaving his head, or was it just his style?

    Thanks a lot,
    Your fan

HELLO! Thanks for your message. In the book, So B It I didn’t really specify what was wrong with Mama. In the movie, we decided to make her death due to a weakened heart. Elliot’s hair was kept short because it was easier to care for that way. There are a few things that we changed in the movie version – there had to be because otherwise the movie would have lasted too long! But I’ve seen the film, and I LOVE it. I am sure that fans of the book will not be disappointed. – SW

Hi, I love your books! I saw the trailer and it was awesome! I read this book at the starting of 6th grade last year and I completely soofed it! I have to admit that I cried at the last few chapter. So anyways good luck with the film, congrats, I hope it will be hit film. In fact, now that I think of it, this might be the best film of 2016 or 2017 (whenever it is released). I know i’ll soof it. I hope the others who watch this, will too. Definitely will see it as soon as possible! So good luck!
