Long Bio
SARAH WEEKS was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has been writing books for young readers for the past thirty years. She is a graduate of Hampshire College and NYU and has taught creative writing to graduate students at The New School and Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City.
Ms. Weeks is well known for her Early Readers, Picture Books, Chapter Books and Novels. Her Young Adult novel, SO B. IT, a New York Times best seller was awarded the 2004 Parents Choice Gold medal and is now a full length feature film starring Alfre Woodard and Talitha Bateman. Sarah’s many picture books include such favorites as Mrs. McNosh Hangs Up her Wash, Glamourpuss and Woof, A Love Story. Her popular middle-grade novels include Pie, Honey, Save Me a Seat and Soof – the long awaited sequel to So B. It. Her books have sold well over three million copies and have been translated into many languages.
Sarah teaches writing workshops for adults and children and is a popular keynote speaker at conferences. She visits thousands of children (grades K through 8) every year in schools across the country, both in person and virtually. She is married to Jim Fyfe, a high school history teacher and has two grown sons and one adorable granddaughter. Sarah splits her time between her homes in Nyack, NY and Jeffersonville, NY.
